BARBADIANS COULD BE mouthfuls away from serious risk of foodborne illnesses, based on allegations against a local food distributor.

The distributor, who has been operating locally for over 15 years, is being accused of supplying expired goods to various hotels, supermarkets and restaurants.

That allegation came from a former employee, who said that he and other staff members were made to remove the labels from expired products that were often supplied to businesses.

Based on cellular phone video footage provided to the SUNDAY SUN, several of its workers, including a supervisor, were captured using surgical alcohol to rub off the dates printed on products like concentrates and sour cream.

Please read the full story in today’s Sunday Sun, or in the eNATION edition.
