Taste of the Caribbean enters final day

THE COUNTRY OF cou cou and flying fish and pudding and souse showed it was more than that when the last set of chefs competed today at the Taste of the Caribbean being held at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Miami.

Showing off their skills this afternoon will be first timers Damian Leach and Ryan Adamson who are up for Chef of the Year and Bartender of the Year titles.

Adamson is in the mystery basket round and will have twenty minutes to survey the table and come up with a twist on a classic cocktail.

Up earlier was first timer Nicholas Ifill in the Junior Chef of the Year and Javon Cummins who, according to team manager Henderson Butcher, was told by the judges he had “the cleanest work”.

The competitions finishes at 4 p.m. and then the awards dinner and ceremony takes place at 7 p.m. (NS)
