GET THE MONEY and buy the garbage collection trucks, is the word from shadow minister of the environment Senator Wilfred Abrahams to Minister of the Environment Dr Denis Lowe.
Abrahams said 18 months ago there was a major garbage crisis in the island and it was indicated that trucks would be sourced, but he bemoaned the fact that it had not happened.
Speaking yesterday from the back of the old Fairchild Street Market, where garbage has piled up and blocked a canal, Abrahams said the country could not be serviced with the current fleet of trucks available to the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA). (LK)
