Two of local basketball’s most iconic communities will renew their rivalry on the sport’s most illustrious stage, as title favourites Orange 3 Pinelands and Station Hill Cavaliers comfortably completed first-round sweeps on Tuesday to advance to the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League finals.
Playing in the nightcap at the Barbados Community College, Station Hill jumped out to an unbelievably quick 22-1 advantage en route to a series-clinching 87-69 Game 2 thrashing of Urban Vybz St John’s Sonics.
This was after the Pine held Hilton Barbados Warriors to just four third-quarter points to lead by as many as 22 before holding on for a 77-68 victory. (JM)
