Charged with drug trafficking

A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE is scheduled to appear at the District B Magistrates Court on Monday to answer several drug charges.

La-Toya Kenisha Smart, a 25-year-old Guyanese national, is charged with trafficking and importation of eight packages of cannabis weighing one pound.

According to a police media release, Smart arrived in Barbados on Saturday and was interviewed by police. A search was conducted on her luggage and the drugs were found in a hidden compartment.

She is also charged with possession and possession with intent to supply. (PR/SAT)
