Hurricane Dorian may have missed Barbados, but it has still struck a few Barbadians in The Bahamas.

While former principal of the Princess Margaret Secondary School in St Philip, Dr Wismore Butcher and his wife have been left marooned in the house where they are staying in Grand Bahama, preliminary reports are that they are safe.

His brother Berkeley raised alarm bells among the Mason family of Bayfield, St Philip, with a Facebook post, highlighting the plight of the retired educator and his family.

But in another post yesterday giving an update to other members of the family, Berkeley said the preliminary news was great after the honorary consulate of The Bahamas in Barbados was made aware of the plight of his brother through a family friend. (EZS)
