NEW NATIONAL road race king Joshua Kelly will be taking his riding skills to Venezuela within a fortnight.

Kelly, the 20-year-old riding sensation, will spearhead a two-man Barbados team at the Pan American Cycling Championships in San Cristobal, from May 18-22.

Fresh from winning last Saturday’s gruelling 130-kilometre Bushy Park, St Philip circuit race, which featured the Stewart Hill climb in St John, Kelly will be joined by the improving Gregory Vanderpool.

Despite finishing outside the top three, Vanderpool gets the chance to wear national colours at the prestigious championships, where 18 countries from the Pan American region will be seeking glory, due to the unavailability of the more heralded Russell Elcock and Jamol Eastmond.
