WITH SMILES AND LOOKS OF RELIEF etched on their faces, students of Lawrence T Gay Memorial, Hindsbury Primary and St Matthews Primary Schools left the Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance Examination behind them forever today.
Anxious parents and well-wishers stood outside the gates of Combermere School in Waterford, St Michael awaiting their loved ones, who had just sat the exam that would determine where they will spend the next five or six years of their academic careers.
The majority of students told NATION Online the mathematics section of the examination appeared to be the more difficult of the two.
Tiarrah Edwards of Lawrence T Gay Memorial said that she was looking forward to attending Queen’s College (QC) or Alexandra School at the start of the new academic year.
“The maths was a little hard, but I think I did well enough to pass for QC or Alexandra,” she said.
More than 3 500 children sat the Common Entrance Exam today.
