A DECISION not to return to Assiniboia Downs in Winnipeg, Canada has so far borne fruit for Rasheed Hughes as he emerged champion apprentice and jockey

Hughes booted home two wins with Wheyshe Went and Chimichurri on the season’s tenth and final day last Thursday at the Garrison Savannah to grab honours with 12 wins.

The younger brother of Christopher Husbands started the day locked on ten wins with long-time leader Antonio Bishop.
