HUNDREDS OF THE island’s teachers flocked to the Wildey Gymnasium this afternoon for a special Barbados Union of Teachers meeting.
Schools across the island were closed at 12:30 p.m. because of these talks and a similar meeting of the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union.
Among the issues to be discussed is school violence.
Just before the meeting started, BUT president Pedro Shepherd requested that the media leave to allow the teachers a closed meeting, but a press briefing will be held at 3:30 to update the public on the discussions. (AD)
