A WRIT has been lodged calling on the Supreme Court to halt the operations of the Barbados Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federations (BABBFF).
The legal firm of Simmons and Babb, acting on behalf of Manasseh King and Irvine “Big Red’s” Streete, filed the application which is also challenging the constitutionality of last October’s controversial general meeting of the federation.
The application, which reached the High Court yesterday, charges among other things that the elections of officers at that meeting did not follow the general requirements of the constitution governing the BABBFF.
Alvan Babb, lead attorney acting on behalf of the applicants, told the MIDWEEK NATION that he was seeking a declaration that the election was unconstitutional as the constitution does not speak to an extraordinary general meeting. (MK)
