WITH THE Barbados Secondary Schools Entrance examination, also known as the Common Entrance, being mere weeks away, Class 4 students of Lawrence T. Gay Memorial School received some welcome advice recently.
It came from Barbados Labour Party candidate for St Michael West Central, Ian Gooding-Edghill, who told the 84 students to give of their best and follow the guidance of the teachers in the exam. He presented them with a number of kits for the test.
“I want to point out to the pupils concerned that even at this stage, it’s not too late to put in extra study effort by doing over and over all the useful and important things pointed out to you by your teachers and other adults. But do so without putting yourself under unnecessary additional pressure,” he added.
Gooding-Edghill assured the students it was natural to be nervous and anxious but said even adults felt such emotions. He advised them to never lose confidence and to be aware that their families and teachers believed in them.
