BARBADOS goal shooter Shonica Wharton scored a record 52 goals to lead knockout champions UWI Blackbirds ‘A’ to a 58-31 win over Blackbirds ‘B” on Friday night.

That was the second fixtured Division 1 game of the Barbados Netball Association 2016 league and was played at the Netball Stadium.

Wharton had no challenge in the shooting circle with her opponents using Shevanne Burrowes, Sade Sargeant and the injury prone Shanice Blades with little success in stopping the ‘A’ team’s shooting machine.

Burrowes matched Wharton in girth but definitely not in height or speed as the former Graydon Sealy student repeatedly eluded her marker to burn the net with some long range and under-the-basket gems.
