PEOPLE LIVING IN the immediate vicinity of schools are being asked to refrain from cutting grass, shrubs and other vegetation during school hours.
The call has come from Minister of Education Ronald Jones who said sometimes the smell generated from such activity resulted in a negative impact on the schools.
Jones made the comments when asked for an update on the environmental issues affecting several schools, including Combermere, Lawrence T. Gay and The Lodge Schools.
He had just delivered the feature address at the opening of the National Qualifications Framework Implementation Workshop at Almond Bay, Hastings, Christ Church. (LK)
