SOME COMMUNITIES along the West Coast of Barbados were briefly affected by a power outage tonight.

Studying came to a halt for some students at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus when some tutorial rooms suffered from the outage which lasted about ten minutes there.

NATION Online learned that homes in the neighbouring Wanstead and White Hall, St Michael were without electricity, while residents in Mount Brevitor, St Peter and Cane Garden, St Thomas also reported being affected by a loss of power.

Barbados Light and Power posted an update on their Facebook page stating the team “is aware of an outage affecting some customers across the island. Please know that our team is presently investigating and working to safely restore power in the shortest time possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused resulting from the outage and thank you for your patience at this time”. (TG)
