Motorists are bracing themselves for even more congestion on the heavily used Green Hill, St Michael roadway.

That’s because on Friday workmen at the Ministry of Transport, Work and Maintenance (MTW) recommenced work on the construction of an island at the junction of Highway 2A Green Hill and the Lodge Plantation Road (near Pricesmart).

In a notice to the public, the ministry stated that the left turn leading to Lodge Plantation Road (the road to Pricesmart) will be closed between the working hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday for the next three weeks.

It urged motorists to exercise extreme caution when travelling near the worksite as excavation will be taking place there, and workmen will be about.
