BARBADOS SENIOR MEN’S football team sit in the driver’s seat of Group 4 of the Scotiabank Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup Qualifiers after the local boys defeated Curacao 1-0 last night at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

In a game where Barbados saw very little of the ball, they created the better opportunities and might have broken the deadlock several times.

However, their persistence paid off in the 68th minute courtesy of a goal from midfield maestro Romario Harewood.

Rashad Jules’ left footed corner from the right hand side caused all kinds of problems for the Curacao defence and Harewood was on the doorstep to score from close range with a powerful left foot shot.

Barbados will now turn their attention to the Dominican Republic who they face next Tuesday in Santo Domingo. (ROG)
