Five injured in accident at Kingsland

FIVE PEOPLE, including a small child, sustained injuries when two cars collided on the highway near Deighton Griffith Secondary School at Kingsland, Christ Church, this afternoon.

One person was thrown from a vehicle.

According to initial reports, a 90 year old man suffered two broken legs, one female sustained head and facial injuries and a child suffered a haematoma.

Two tenders from the Barbados Fire Service responded and had to extract the passengers from the badly damaged vehicles.

One car ended up in the ditch at the side of the road.

The accident occurred at about 1:30 p.m.

The injured were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance. (LK)
