Alexander at his best as Pine rein in Bulls

IT TOOK a while, but Ian Alexander may finally be fitting in.

The former Lakers forward had his best game in the Pine yet, scoring a game-high 17 points to help the reeling Orange 3 Pinelands bounce back via Thursday’s 73-49 victory over Burger King Clapham Bulls in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League at the Wildey Gym.

It marked the end of an unusually poor stretch from the typically sweet-shooting Alexander, who averaged just over eight points per game on an even more puzzling 31 per cent shooting from the floor.

And Pinelands struggled just as badly over that span, going 1-3 since acquiring him from Lakers, while losing every game Alexander appeared in, including Sunday’s shocking loss to the schoolboys.
