Call for PSV, taxi lanes in The City

GOVERNMENT is being urged to give public transport vehicles priority on the nation’s roads, and  in particular a dedicated bus lane in The City.

The suggestion has come from president of the Bridgetown Port Taxi Co-operative Society, Villeneuve Greaves, as he delivered the feature address at the Alliance Owners of Public Transport Awards For Excellence ceremony at Divi Southwinds on Sunday.

Greaves, a veteran in the transport industry, said it was high time public service vehicles (PSVs) be given due respect because of their economic contribution.

Noting that one of the main issues hampering their operations was trying to compete with other road users, he argued that because they earned their livelihood on the roads, they should be given priority.
