BE WARNED. Barbadians have been cautioned not to transmit pornographic material by video or any other technical means.

The warning comes against the background of recent video clips making the rounds across the island which are purporting to be featuring underage girls (minors under 16) in various sex acts.

Police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch told the SATURDAY SUN yesterday that in addition to being liable for prosecution under the Computer Misuse Act, “these types of videos can cause hurt, distress and discomfort to people and their families”.

He added: “It is an offence to circulate pornography and, especially with minors, to publish, circulate or manufacture these types of videos showing minors.”
