Man injured as vehicle plunges into ravine

A NEWCASTLE, St John man was injured this afternoon when he lost control of the van he was driving and plunged more than 30 feet into a ravine at Clifton Hall.

Dave Cook was able to exit the vehicle on his own but was later taken to hospital by ambulance complaining of pains about the body.

Fire and ambulance personnel responded to the scene along with members of the St John District Emergency Organisation.

No other vehicles were involved. (CA)
