BARBADOS PRIDE’S victory chase ended in a stalemate yesterday as Raymon Reifer defied his countrymen for just over two hours to earn his franchise, Guyana Jaguars, an important draw.

Despite another stellar bowling effort from batting all-rounder Roston Chase with his second five-wicket haul of the match, Barbados Pride’s fragile bowling attack was glaringly exposed as the eighth-wicket pair of Reifer (19 not out, 116 balls, 131 minutes), and leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo (seven not out off 61 balls, 63 minutes) batted out the match’s final 20 overs while adding 14 runs.

Set an unlikely victory target of 405 runs, the Jaguars ended on 252 for seven off 117 overs in their second innings on the final day of their seventh-round regional Professional Cricket League match at Kensington Oval.

Chase snared five for 77 in 41 overs of immaculate off-spin to follow his career-best first innings effort of five for 27 in 15.5 overs.
