SPRINKLES OF RAIN might have washed away some of the tears that flowed for murder victim Travis Austin over the weekend, but they couldn’t mask the sadness that enveloped his former Haynesville, St James neighbourhood.

On Sunday evening more than 100 residents joined with relatives and friends of the late 24-year-old with the hope of healing some of the pain caused by his brutal death.

Austin was reportedly robbed and killed on February 4. Two men, brothers Antonio and Arlond Atwell, have since been charged with his murder and remanded to Her Majesty’s Prisons Dodds until March 8.

Candles lit the night and drums were beaten at Central Close Recreational Park, mere feet away from where Austin died.
