A LOCAL LAWYER says he has written the Ministry of Health seeking a licence to allow a pharmacist to “import, produce and supply” marijuana for medical purposes.
Douglas Trotman, who has previously said he would request permission to grow marijuana for research purposes, confirmed to the SUNDAY SUN that he had written the letter on January 27 on behalf of his wife, who has been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.
Kathy-Anne Trotman, who turned 47 yesterday, has undergone surgery in Barbados and was also treated in Canada.
“Mrs Trotman has been prescribed marijuana for medical use due to matters related to her condition by one of her physicians whose practice is located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada,” the letter states. “She is desirous of having that prescription filled here in Barbados . . . .”
