A CITY WOMAN is convinced that someone put a ligature around her 18-month-old toddler’s neck and attempted to strangle him.

Mariah Bobb-Blackman believes strongly that the disturbing incident occurred at the Salvation Army’s Wellington Street Day Nursery, which he attended.

Bobb-Blackman, who lives in Spruce Street, discovered two marks around the neck of her son Makai two Fridays ago after he was picked up from the nursery. Over that weekend the marks became more distinct and a doctor who examined the baby on the Monday confirmed her worst fears. “This abrasion is suggestive of being caused by a string or thin wire cord,” the doctor wrote in his medical report.

The 19-year-old mother immediately made a complaint to Central Police Station and the Child Care Board.
