FOUR WEEKS AGO Keon Harding was named as the first recipient  of the Desmond Haynes Foundation Scholarship and now today he is one of 157 West Indian players in the draft for the Hero Caribbean Premier League.

At a Press conference to officially name Harding as the scholarship winner and to announce details  of his upcoming Charity Golf Tournament, Haynes called the young cricketer one of the brightest young talents on the island.

“I am happy that the money that we raised from this golf tournament is being spent in the right way  and we are happy that we can  make the contribution to young Keon,” said Haynes.

Harding, a former student of Christ Church Foundation and Combermere schools, is now studying management at the University of the West Indies at Cave Hill. Haynes pointed out that there was also the possibility that he would be going on to England.
