CHAIRMAN of the Employment Rights Tribunal, retired Justice Christopher Blackman, is calling on employers to look at the processes they use to deal with matters rather than rely on the practices currently employed.
He made the statement yesterday following a decision handed down in the case of First Citizens Bank versus former settlement officer Debra Brathwaite, at the tribunal located at Warrens Office Towers, Warrens, St Michael.
The panel included Blackman, employer’s representative John Williams and employee’s representative Ulric Sealy.
“This panel has found that Ms Brathwaite was unfairly dismissed and First Citizens Bank’s procedures were flawed,” he said following a short recess by the panel for deliberations. (RA)
