THE COMMEMORATIVE Broken Trident will continue its trek across St George this month, with stops at several schools and major events in that central parish.

On Errol Barrow Day, tomorrow, Thursday, January 21, the symbolic Broken Trident will set off from Independence Square, Bridgetown, at 3 p.m. during the Trident Run. The event will culminate at the Glebe playing field, St. George, with a Community Sunset Concert at 5:30 p.m.

On Friday, January 22, the Broken Trident is scheduled to be on display at St. George Primary from 8:30 to 10 a.m., and at St. George Secondary from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Sunday, January 24, it is expected to be featured at the Boarded Hall New Testament Church of God.

The students of the Providence Schools will receive the commemorative Broken Trident on Monday, January 25, at 9 a.m., while the Mount and Salters Business Parks will play host to the Broken Trident on Tuesday, January 26, and Wednesday, January 27, respectively.

Following an appearance at Q in the Community on Thursday, January 28, the symbolic Broken Trident will head to Ellerton Nursery on Friday, January 29, and to the St. George Parish Church on Sunday, January 31. It will have pride of place at the St. George Community Awards that same day.

The commemorative Broken Trident was presented to Prime Minister Freundel Stuart at the official launch of the 50th Anniversary celebrations on January 6, in Independence Square. It was then passed to St George Parish Ambassadors, Jalissa Proverbs and Justin Clarke, to begin its journey around Barbados. (BGIS)
