A PROPOSAL TO END the Yamaha Class is on a 13-point plan expected to get the attention of the Barbados Karting Association (BKA) at its annual general meeting at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The issue of the Yamaha Class was first raised publicly by the BKA’s chairman Stephen Mayers at the association’s award ceremony at Bushy Park last month.
The class had served the BKA well, but it was time to move on, he told the audience made up of drivers, sponsors, and motor sport officials.
“The Yamaha has lived on yet another year, but hopefully this will be the last. It has served us well, but the time has come to let go and say goodbye,” Mayers said.
