NHC gets $2m for well repairs

The National Housing Corporation (NHC) now has some extra money to deal with its well problem.

Two million dollars will be placed at the Government agency’s disposal to make sure its wells are properly maintained. Seventeen-year-old Kyriq Boyce had fallen to his death when a well cover he was standing on collapsed near his home in The Pine, St Michael on July 4, a month shy of his 18th birthday.

“We are actively involved in the process of repairing those wells,” Charles Griffith, minister in the Ministry of Housing and Lands, told the audience at a community meeting organised last Sunday by the Christ Church East Central constituency of the Barbados Labour Party. (BA)
