FATHERS SHOULD BE ALLOWED to see their children even when maintenance is not paid up, says the country’s newest judge.
Justice Pamela Beckles said the children had a right to bond with their fathers, who had a right to have access to their offspring.
Justice Beckles, the former chief magistrate, presided over domestic cases, particularly in the last five years she spent at the Oistins Magistrates’ Court.
“I had to deal with the access to children and I had a serious problem at Oistins. Fathers have a right to have access to the children whether or not they can afford to pay maintenance or not,” she told the SUNDAY SUN in an interview.
