THE CRÈME DE LA CRÈME in sporting excellence were all together in one facility a few nights ago.

It was the Barbados Olympic Association’s dinner and awards ceremony at the Hilton Barbados and the top sporting stars in the land, Akela Jones, Ramon Gittens and Shane Brathwaite, were on hand to collect their awards after an impressive 2015 season.

They all got the chance to mingle with Obadele Thompson and Jim Wedderburn, the only Barbadians with Olympic medals. Wedderburn won bronze in the 4×400 metre relay at the 1960 Olympics in Rome, while Thompson earn bronze in the 100-metre dash at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

It was also a night of style and fashion. (MK)
