PEOPLE OF St Joseph – get accustomed to dry taps.

The hierarchy of the Barbados Water Authority is not promising any relief in the near future.

This was the word from acting general manager of the BWA, Dr John Mwanza, to water-starved residents of the eastern parish who have been contending with dry taps, empty community water tanks and even dry standpipes for the past four weeks.

Asked whether St Joseph homes, businesses and farmers could expect relief any time soon, Mwanza admitted: “Unfortunately, at this point, with a two million gallon per day reduction in supply, we cannot guarantee some immediate relief.”
