BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY (BWA) drivers are denying rumours that they are seeking favours to provide water to some St Joseph residents.
For two weeks, residents have been complaining about the lack of a consistent water supply to several communities in the rural parish. And yesterday, drivers responded to reports which claimed that some residents, particularly those with water tanks, were paying BWA workers to get selective treatment.
Denying these accusations, a BWA driver, who was servicing the water-stricken Lammings, said he had heard rumours of these happenings from members in the community, but had never experienced it nor seen it for himself.
He also explained that rumours of a resident paying to have their swimming pool filled with water from a BWA truck were also untrue.
