TRADITIONALLY, THEY ARE THE ONES in demand whenever there is a celebration.
But for Barbadian entertainers, Christmas is a special time reserved for family.
Like everyone else, they were in a festive mood yesterday when NATION Online caught up with a few of them.
We asked what their plans for the big day included.
Smokey Burke: Christmas day is a family day for me and is usually very quiet. This year will be slightly different as I have a gig with the Police Band in the park and another at a hotel on the South Coast. After that I will spend the day with my daughter and gather at my sister’s for the usual family tradition.
Mighty Gabby: I don’t get involved in the shopping or the cooking of the turkey and ham. It comes to me as an ordinary day, but I do wish my family and friends happy holidays despite not celebrating the holiday.
Terencia “TC” Coward: Christmas is all about family for me. I will be going to five o clock service with my mom and then prepare lunch as this year is my year to host it. There will be every traditional Bajan dish along with a taste of most Caribbean islands. We usually don’t get the chance to spend a lot of long hours together even though we chat every day, so tomorrow [today] is the day to do just that. 
Rameses Brown: Tomorrow [Today] I am going to church with my kids and then on to Queen’s Park. After that we have a lunch date in St Peter where we will relax for the rest of the day.
Adrian Clarke: As usual, it will just be me and family. I’ll be cooking and relaxing. A lot of traditional stuff, minus the jug-jug would be on the menu. I like meat, so ham will be the order of the day as well as chicken and a leg of lamb.
Peter Ram: I’ll be spending the day at home with my kids. It’s going to be a short holiday for me as I have to go to Trinidad for the New Year. So it’s Christmas with the fam and New Year with the fans. (RA)
