WANDERERS AUSTRALIA just recently wrapped up a netball tour of Barbados and already they are planning to bring three teams back to the island next year.

NATION SPORT caught up with the team on Friday night during a game against a national under-18 team at the Netball Stadium, and head coach Bob Fussell said that this was the first junior netball team from Australia that has toured the Caribbean.

Wanderers put out an invitation for junior netball players from throughout Australia to apply to be a part of the tour after figuring Barbados would be a great fit. The players were chosen on a “first come, first serve” basis, regardless of skill level.

“We put out the invitation a year in advance because it is a very expensive undertaking for the girls to come halfway around the world,” said Fussell. (PG)
