The police are probing reports that a number of accounts at three banks have been tampered with and money missing.
The Barbados Bankers Association responded today to the rapidly circulating reports stating it had “been made aware of an issue involving the use of ATMs at several commercial banks”.
The matter, the association said, was in the hands of the police and a further statement would be made once the investigations were completed.
It advised “clients of any commercial bank in Barbados are urged to contact their financial services institution if they suspect any unauthorised use of their account”. (PR/AC)
