DON’T EXPECT FORMER LEADER of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Owen Arthur back at the polls.
The rumour mill in Barbados was swirling yesterday, claiming that Arthur was on the verge of forming a new political organisation to contest the next general election, but the MP for St Peter has rubbished the talk.
“The operatives of the Barbados Labour Party have a highly developed sense of rumour. I will not participate in the folly of the rumour mill in Barbados,” Arthur told the DAILY NATION when contacted about the probability of him forming a new party to make a run at the polls in 2018.
“I have said it before, I am not contesting any more elections in Barbados,” the former BLP leader stressed. “But I won’t give them (the BLP) the benefit of the doubt. They want to find out what I’m doing. Let them speculate.” (BA)
