HMS BARBADOS was launched November 30, 1966, to the accompaniment of a brass band and cries of “hip hip”.

Through the years it has charted a course which has brought it success in many spheres, but it has also endured some rough waters. Nevertheless, with some 280 000 “crew” members working in unison to steer the ship, there is hope it will continue on a growth path under the skilful statesmanship for which it is renowned.

This theme was played out by the tots from Eden Lodge Nursery at the St Michael School’s annual Culture And Character Day last Friday as part of Independence celebrations. (SDB Media)
