JAMES JOHNSON finally returned to the RBC/Royal Bank Classic. Now he’s got to make a real comeback.

Seasoned veteran Carlsen Leacock came out firing yesterday, shooting an opening one-under 71 to take a five-stroke lead heading into today’s final round after Johnson struggled to keep pace at the Barbados Golf Club in Durants, Christ Church.

Talented teen Iz Hustler and Maurice Forde both shot 76 while Julian Jordan, Orville Alleyne, Mark Blakeley and Barbados’ best player Johnson – who ended his two-year hiatus from the event – all finished a further stroke back on 77.

But the story of the day was that of Leacock, who had par or better on 15 of the first 16 holes while shooting three birdies on the front nine despite playing in gusty conditions.
