FOLK AT MARTINS BAY, St John will have to wait a while longer to access Public Service Vehicles.
It was supposed to be one of the three areas to be engaged in the Transport Integrated Pilot Project, but yesterday morning, Transport Minister Michael Lashley said a decision was taken to delay the project in that area.
The project starts on December 1 with Martins Bay, Edey Village, Christ Church and Sturges, St Thomas set to be in the pilot.
“A decision has been taken to delay the start of the Martins Bay route to ensure that the project is executed,” he noted.
However, he reiterated school children and pensioners will travel free on the PSVs and will be reimbursed by government. He said the system will be reviewed in six months. (MB)
