St George man charged with three murders

POLICE HAVE MADE a breakthrough into a number of murders committed this year. 

 Twenty-one-year-old Michael Kenan Blackett of Block 2, Flat Rock, St George has been arrested and formally charged with three murders and two counts of wounding with intent.

 The murders are those of Charles Ellis who was shot on May 5 at Nelson Street; Kemal Leacock who was shot on August 12 at Bottom Close Wildey and Ashem Telemaque who was shot on August 4 at Forde’s Road.

Blackett is also accused of shooting and wounding one man at Parkinson Field, Pinelands, St Michael, on January 22 and another at Fordes Road on August 4.

He is expected to appear at the District “A” Magistrates Court today. (PR/NB)
