Brooks bang on

SHAMARH BROOKS isn’t just style and no substance anymore. He now has quality and quantity with three tons in his last four first-class matches.

Long regarded as a special batting talent, but with a lone half-century to show in his first 22 matches at this level, Brooks showcased his silky-smooth touch with some sugar-coated strokes en route to his third first-class century.

It was the highlight on the opening day of Barbados Pride’s second-round match in the regional Professional Cricket League four-day championship against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at Kensington Oval here yesterday.

Brooks’ chanceless, unbeaten 102, guided Barbados Pride to 247 for four off 90 overs at the close of play.
