THE SALVATION ARMY is again appealing to the generosity of corporate Barbados and private citizens to help them carry out their programmes.
With a target of $800 000 in mind, the Salvation Army launched its 2015 Kettle Appeal in Jubilee Gardens this morning. Among the services supported by the proceeds from the drive are the meals on wheels, the men’s hostel and the provision of hampers to the needy.
In addition to envelopes from major sponsors in and around The City several passers-by, including small children, dropped their contributions into the red kettles as the formal proceedings took place. People can support the drive at about 40 different points through December 31. (YB)
