St James man remanded on gun, drug charges

A 21-YEAR-OLD St James man was remanded to prison when he appeared in court today on drug, firearm and ammunition offences.

He is Akiel Rishado Cumberbatch of Orchid Drive, Prior Park Gardens.

Police say a search warrant was executed at his residence and 1.352 kilogrammes of cannabis was found along with a shotgun and ammunition.

Cumberbatch was charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking, illegal possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

He will appear in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court on December 7. (PR/NB)
