The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has dropped the drug charges against former Chairman of Goddard Enterprises Ltd, Charles Herbert.

The DPP has however, said the case against Walter Prescod and Chris Rogers will continue.

The court is still to rule on that aspect after hearing submissions from Queen’s Counsel Andrew Pilgrim.

Herbert, 63, was arrested along with fellow GEL director Rogers and GEL employee Prescod. On June 28, they were charged with possession, trafficking and intent to supply 267 pounds of cannabis found on the vessel Ecstasy, owned by GEL, five days prior. The estimated street value was $534 160.

Both Herbert and Rogers were on $400 000 bail, having handed over their travel documents and required to report to a police station. Prescod is also on bail. (HLE/Nation Online)
