BRIDGETOWN IS AGLOW with lights and will remain so for the next 30 days.

Around 6:20 p.m. today, the switch was flicked at the Sagicor Life Lighting Ceremony by 11 children, one drawn from each parish. Several locations leading from Independence Square radiated with additional light.

Road users have become accustomed to lights in different formations at the various roundabouts, but this year’s Independence celebrations have something extra.

Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley said at least one historic building in each parish will also be illuminated. (YB)
