TORONTO – Veteran jockey Patrick Husbands sensationally rolled back the years on Saturday, reeling off four impressive victories to dominate the ten-race card at the renowned Woodbine racetrack.
The 42-year-old, who has had a below-par season by his usually lofty standards, captured race one with favourite She’s a Ringer, race two with 3-1 chance Targeting, race five with 7-1 bet Conquest Babayaga before rounding off his success aboard 2-1 choice Goldoldhockeygame.
Husbands narrowly missed out on a fifth victory in race seven over six furlongs, when he and favourite Spotlight lost by a nose to 3-1 chance Daylight Breeze with Gary Boulanger in the irons.
The success propelled the reigning Woodbine champion to 99 wins. (CMC)
