The hunt for a missing elderly woman ended last night when a body was pulled from a ravine in St George.

It is believed to be that of Marcelle Smith, 75, who vanished from her Farm Road, St Philip home 11 days ago, sparking an intense search and a $10 000 reward.

Unconfirmed reports from law enforcement sources last night were that detectives were talking to a person of interest at the time when the body was found. Those sources also hinted that a vital clue for investigators was the alleged discovery that an ATM card owned by Smith had been used by someone else since her disappearance.
